In the original Japanese version of the game, Vivian was often referred to as a male by her sister and in her character description. It was believed that Vivian was actually born a male. All references to this were removed from the North American version of the game, except the Tattle Log entry. When using the Tattle ability on Vivian the first time you battle her, Goombella first refers to Vivian as on of the Shadow Siren "sisters" but then corrects herself and says "brother."
